SIR20207 - Certificate II in Retail
The National Retail Institute is the training arm of National Retail Association, Australia’s leading retail employers’ association. Our trainers are retail industry people who understand our sector.
The qualification is designed for retail managers such as middle to senior management in a larger retail or wholesale outlet or for the management of a smaller, retail store or wholesale outlet.
Learners will complete core units in customer service, safe working, maintaining work areas, communication, operation of technology, stock control and minimising theft. Learners will also be able to choose from a wide range of electives in selling products, food safety, product knowledge, Point of Sale processes and food handling, to suit their particular interests and work context.
How does learning happen?
Our approach is very flexible. We respond to the needs of employers who we work with. A range of learning options is available to suit your needs.
The process starts with an interview to determine eligibility for recognition of prior learning. Experienced staff in a Retail Environment may have Retail SKILLS which can be recognised towards a National Qualification.
For those units which need to be completed through a learning process there are several options. Most employers and learners choose our face to face training in the workplace.
This learning is supported by print resources, on-line resources and work-based projects making the learning easier, more convenient, and more importantly, more relevant to the job.
