SIR40107- Certificate IV in Retail Management
The National Retail Institute is the training arm of National Retail Association, Australia’s leading retail employers’ association. Our trainers are retail industry people who understand our sector.
The qualification is designed for retail managers such as middle to senior management in a larger retail or wholesale outlet or for the management of a smaller, retail store or wholesale outlet.
Learners will complete core units in leading and managing people, providing safe working environment and managing store merchandising and presentation standards. Learners will also be able to choose from a wide range of electives in finance, human resource management, marketing, product management, quality and management and leadership, to suit their particular interests and work context.
How does learning happen?
Our approach is very flexible. We respond to the needs of employers who we work with. A range of learning options is available to suit your needs.
The process starts with an interview to determine eligibility for recognition of prior learning. Experienced retail managers with at least 2 - 3 years experience in a Retail Environment, have Retail SKILLS which can be recognised towards a National Qualification.
For those units which need to be completed through a learning process there are several options. Most learners choose our one day workshops.
This learning is supported by print resources, on-line resources and work-based projects making the learning easier, more convenient, and more importantly, more relevant to the job.

All applicants must currently be employed in the retail industry and have sufficient relevant wholesale or have retail experience in a current or previous job role.

Certificate IV in Retail Management Course Structure
To qualify for Certificate IV in Retail Management, a total of 10 units of competency must be completed, comprising three core units and 7 electives relevant to the business environment

Steps to Higher Education...
As a nationally recognized qualification, the Certificate IV in Retail management can be used as a stepping stone to higher qualifications such as Diploma of Retail Management or Diploma of Management.
Where a student undertakes and completes the Diploma of Retail Management there will be an advanced standing (credit) towards a bachelor degree in retail management.
Better still, through the NRI’s partnership with the University of Wollongong’s Sydney Business School, completion of the Diploma will give students the qualifying entry standard into the Graduate Certificate/Master of Retail Management. This flexible Masters is delivered through a combination of weekend workshops and on-line study making it easy for you to achieve your goals.

Price
A range of government subsidies both Commonwealth and state are available to support your training, so typically you wont have to pay very much yourself.
Employers may be eligible for subsidies of up to $4000 to support their staff completing the course. The subsidy is greater than the cost of training.
