As the designers of tomorrow, we ask students across Australia to present their vision for 2009
A fresh new look, the hottest retail labels and acclaimed Australian designers will characterise the 28th NRA Australian Fashion Design Awards & Festival to be staged from 30 March to 8 April 2009.
As a part of the awards and festival's fresh new look, the year 2009 present’s greater opportunities for students studying fashion design, with the 28th NRA Australian Fashion Design Awards hosting preliminary judging for the student category in not only Queensland but other states across Australia.
Preliminary judging will take place at AMP Capital Shopping Centres throughout Australia on the following dates.
Note: Preliminary judging for the student category at Knox City Shopping Centre, VIC, will now be held on 2 April 2009.

Student Entry Information
Entry Cost: $75.00
Entrants are to showcase the Australian Lifestyle in what they see to be hot on the catwalk and on the street in 2009.
Designs can be commercial to avant-garde – from swimwear to bridal, designs that reflect what Australian Lifestyle is all about.
Create 1 to 3 outfit/s that project innovation in fashion design, direction, and fabric utilisation. Outfits to be shown on 1 to 3 female or male models in any combination. Students may also enter children’s wear.
If creating 2 or 3 outfits, the outfits must be a collection.
A collection is a totally related fashion story transmitted by mood, fabric, colour or design and must appear on the catwalk at the same time.
Students must be either currently studying fashion or have graduated from a fashion course between 1 July 2008 and 1 April 2009

To enter the student category entrants have the option of entering online or by fax. It is essential that if entering online or by fax you download the student brief, full rules of entry and entry kit to provide an overview of the competition and entry requirements.
You must only download the student entry form if you are entering by fax. An online entry form will be provided for entrants to fill out if entering online.
