The winners of the 28th NRA Australian Fashion Design Awards presented by AMP Capital Shopping Centres were announced during the National Final and Live Telecast held on the Gold Coast on 8th April, 2009.
Brad Webb from Darb Bridal Couture won the AMP Capital Shopping Centres Supreme Award for his bridal entry, “Fabienne”.
The elegant Dior looks of the 1950s was the inspiration behind Brad Webb’s Bridal Gown which features French lace, silk tulle and ribbon in the bodice.
The AMP Capital Shopping Centres Supreme Award is given to the entry considered to be the best of all finalists in the Ready to Wear and Signature Designs categories (does not include Student Designs and Viewers Choice Awards).
The AMP Capital Shopping Centres Supreme Award winner, Brad Webb, receives a Sony Centre Entertainment Package valued at over $5,000 and the Supreme Award trophy.
NRA Events Director Donna Caley said after 28 years the Awards have evolved and today they not only provide a unique platform for creative talent in Queensland but also act as a significant springboard into the national fashion arena. “It is wonderful to see Queensland designers and models recognised as well as the Student Designer winner from Victoria and the Model Search consumer voted winner from West Australia,” said Donna.
27 designer finalists, from a field of almost 300 entries, were paraded on the catwalk during the Awards National Final.
