Meet the Team

Nick Tindley
Director, Employment Law Division

Nick's primary area of responsibility is in providing advice and representation on all employment law, industrial relations and discrimination issues.

Nick's experience allows him to provide critical information on a range of employment issues, ensuring businesses are fully aware of the impact their employment decisions will have.

His role also includes providing advocacy for clients in the Australian and Queensland Industrial Relations Commissions and in the State and Federal Discrimination and Equal Opportunity Commissions on all matters, including unfair dismissal and discrimination.

Nick has a Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He has had extensive experience in employment law litigation and negotiation through his work within various industrial relations organisations.


Bianca Seeto
Senior Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division

Bianca is a solicitor who joined the NRA in March 2004. Before joining the team, Bianca worked for Yum! Restaurants International at the company's Brisbane Restaurant Support Centre.

As a member of the Employment Law Team, Bianca is responsible for providing advice to members on employment law and industrial relations issues including counselling, termination matters and trading hours applications. Bianca is also involved in the drafting of workplace agreements and represents members at the Queensland and Australian Industrial Relations Commissions and Anti-Discrimination Commission.

Bianca has a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Journalism and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology.


Vanessa James-McPhee
Senior Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division


Vanessa joined the National Retail Association in March 2003 after 10 years in the hospitality industry, including several years working in Human Resources Management for an international hotel chain. As part of her human resources portfolio Vanessa was the designated Workplace Health and Safety Officer and Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator.

Vanessa is now a Senior Workplace Advisor and is responsible for drafting workplace agreements, policies and procedures and providing advice on all employment law and industrial relations including counselling and termination matters and discrimination issues.

By combining her human resource and employment law skills, Vanessa is also involved in undertaking payroll and human resource audits to ensure legal compliance.

Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology with Honours in June 2005 and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in March 2006. Vanessa was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in May 2006. She also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hotel Management) with Distinction and Certificate IV in Human Resources Management.
