Meet the ELD Team
Bianca Seeto
Director, Employment Law Division
Bianca is a solicitor who joined the NRA in March 2004. Before joining the team, Bianca worked for Yum! Restaurants International at the company's Brisbane Restaurant Support Centre.
As a member of the Employment Law Team, Bianca is responsible for providing advice to members on employment law and industrial relations issues including counselling, termination matters and trading hours applications. Bianca is also involved in the drafting of enterprise agreements and represents members at Fair Work Australia and the anti-discrimination commissions.
Bianca has a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Journalism and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology.
Vanessa James-McPhee
Senior Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division
Vanessa joined the National Retail Association in March 2003 after 10 years in the hospitality industry, including several years working in Human Resources Management for an international hotel chain. As part of her human resources portfolio Vanessa was the designated Workplace Health and Safety Officer and Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator.
Vanessa is now a Senior Workplace Advisor and is responsible for drafting workplace agreements, policies and procedures and providing advice on all employment law and industrial relations including counselling and termination matters and discrimination issues.
By combining her human resource and employment law skills, Vanessa is also involved in undertaking payroll and human resource audits to ensure legal compliance.
Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology with Honours in June 2005 and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in March 2006. Vanessa was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in May 2006. She also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Hotel Management) with Distinction and Certificate IV in Human Resources Management.
Jessica Duff
Senior Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division
Jessica joined the National Retail Association in November 2010 after eight years in private legal practice. Prior to joining the NRA, Jessica practiced in employment, litigation and general commercial law, acting on behalf of both individuals and a variety of businesses from ASX listed corporations to small family enterprises.
As a member of the Employment Law Team, Jessica advises members on employment law and industrial relations issues including termination of employment, performance management, award interpretation, discrimination and unfair dismissal disputes. Jessica is also involved in the drafting of enterprise agreements and represents members at Fair Work Australia and the anti-discrimination tribunals.
Jessica completed her Bachelor of Laws in 2002 and was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2003. She is also admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court Australia, and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Human Resources Institute of Australia.
Corrina Dowling
Senior Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division
Corrina Dowling first joined the National Retail Association in 2006. After working in private practice (specialising in employment law) for a number of years, Corrina returned to the NRA in 2011.
Corrina has acted for a range of clients including multi-national corporations, small to medium sized businesses, not-for-profit organisations and public entities. Corrina’s experience includes drafting employment contracts and enterprise agreements, providing representation for unfair dismissal applications and discrimination complaints and providing advice on issues such as award interpretation, redundancy and termination of employment.
Corrina has a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Business, Graduate Certificate of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Corrina is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Australian Labour Law Association.
Alex Harding
Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division
Alex joined the NRA in early 2010, and is a valuable part of the Employment Law Team. Alex provides advice to members on matters such as wage rates, dismissals, performance management and award interpretation.
Alex is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Human Resource Management, at the University of Queensland.
Panashe Dube
Workplace Advisor, Employment Law Division
Panashe joined the NRA in May 2011. As a member of the Employment Law Team, Panashe’s role involves providing advice to members on all employment law matters including wage rates, award interpretation and performance management. Panashe also provides assistance with the drafting of enterprise agreements.
Panashe is currently completing his final semester of a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Commerce at Griffith University.
