The Hon. Rob Lucas, MLC, has announced an exemption to coronavirus trading hours, up to and including Tuesday 19th May 2020. The extension also applies to non-exempt shops in the suburbs and those in the CBD area. The hours on the ANZAC Day public holiday (Saturday 25th April) in which shops can trade is 12pm to 9pm.

To summarize, non-exempt shops (excluding car and boat dealers) in the Greater Adelaide Shopping District (CBD and suburbs) can trade the following hours up to and including Tuesday, 19 May 2020.

  • Monday to Friday – unrestricted trading
  • Saturday – until 9.00 pm (except Anzac Day)
  • Sunday – 9.00 am to 9.00 pm
  • Anzac Day (Saturday 25 April) – 12 noon to 9.00 pm

Please note that stores should not feel compelled to trade these addition hours provided by the exemption. For those who choose to do so, a condition of the exemption is that your employees MUST volunteer to work these extended hours rather than being rostered on.
