Covid-19 Update

“COVID Marshalls” to become mandatory in South Australia

COVID marshalls will soon be required at licensed premises, cafes and food courts, large stores including Supermarkets/retailers/hardware, gyms, freight distribution centres, shopping centres/precincts and places of worship.

The marshalls will be specially trained to ensure venues don’t exceed capacity, physical distancing is maintained and infection control requirements (personal and facility wide) are met.

Police and SA Health will work with various sectors to introduce the marshals as quickly as possible.

Changes to the Public Activities Direction will come into effect from 00:01 Friday 14 August 2020 with a seven day transition period ending at 00:01 on Friday 21 August 2020.

For more information on who the marshalls are, and how they will be implemented, phone the SA COVID-19 Information Line on 1800 253 787.

Wellbeing and mental health support for Victorian small businesses

The Victorian Government is addressing the challenges caused by the pandemic with a new $26 million program aimed at supporting the unique mental health needs of small and medium enterprises and your workers.

Key elements of the program include:

  • accredited mental health training delivered by St John Ambulance to business chambers of commerce and business networks across Victoria, to boost mental health capabilities within local business communities
  • access to mental health specialists and on-the-job training for staff in industry and business associations to ensure they can identify and respond to people in distress, and provide immediate referrals to expert business advisors
  • the Partners in Wellbeing telephone hotline. This free support service will be extended to 10pm every night to provide business owners experiencing stress free access to one-on-one wellbeing support, business advisers and financial counsellors.

These support services are being rolled out this month, with demand and future conditions set to guide further services.

You can phone the Partners in Wellbeing telephone hotline at 1300 375 330.
