The way we manage waste and recycling in Victoria is changing.
Key changes include:
- banning some single-use plastic items;
- a container deposit scheme;
- support for businesses to improve how they use materials, saving money and reducing waste;
- a new legislative requirement for businesses to sort commonly recyclable materials and organic waste, similar to households (to be introduced by 2025).
The Victorian Government wants to understand how to best support hospitality businesses manage waste and recycling, and hear your views about our future system.
