RDG Scholarship award winner update 080216 Press Release

In September 2015, Gemma Kariotoglou, 24, Store Manager of Fossil Group, Macquarie NSW was named the National Retail Association’s (NRA) Young Retailer of the Year Scholarship Award Winner.

Courtesy of Retail Doctor Group, Gemma’s prize included one-on-one mentoring from Retail Doctor Group’s CEO Brian Walker, one of Australia’s leading retail experts.

This mentorship includes retail tours to understand what it takes to be a truly “fit” retail business, co-development of an individual growth and career development plan as well as regular mentoring sessions with Brian Walker to discuss and improve skills and expertise in the retail discipline. Furthermore Gemma has received invitations to industry events and complimentary copies of collaborative research projects with Retail Doctor Group’s global retail expert network.

Last Friday, Gemma met with Brian and the Retail Doctor Group team at their offices in Sydney for her next mentoring session.

“The mentor session with Brain was very insightful. I provided Brain with real life management situations that he coached me though. Very relevant to how I can grow and develop as a better manager. I’m looking forward to the next session” said Gemma.

The National Retail Association (NRA) Young Retailer of the Year Award has been running for 42 years and is the most prestigious national competition of its kind.

The Young Retailer of the Year Award aims to encourage retailers to be involved in this historical industry event which recognises and rewards future retail executives and promotes the diversity of viable career opportunities available in
retail.
