This week I have witnessed the great work being done by our Workplace Relations and Policy teams. They are leading the way on key industry issues, including continuing to consult with the federal government on workplace reforms and educating members on the requirements of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022.

The Act contains some of the biggest industrial relations reforms in two decades, resetting how employees and employers interact with each other in hopes of improving job security, working conditions and pay equity for Australians.

Employers should well and truly be considering the steps they need to take to ensure they are meeting changing legislative obligations. I encourage you to keep abreast of the rollout of the developments by attending our webinar this Thursday, which is free for members. Legal Director Lindsay Carroll and Associate of NRA Legal Bradley Ellacott will explain exactly what the changes mean for employers. Find the details HERE.

Our advocacy leaders are also continuing their invaluable work with the federal government and other stakeholders. We are here to act as your connector to decision-makers to ensure your voices are heard on matters important to you and your customers, so please don’t hesitate to drop us a line with your experiences and ideas.

I’m looking forward to continuing to understand more deeply the breadth of projects the Association is working on.

Have a good week.
