As my first message to members, I would like to say thank you for welcoming me to this wonderful Association, it is an honour to be able to lead the NRA through a very powerful time for retail.
In the week since my commencement in the role, I have been learning about the wonderful work the Association does for retailers across the country.
We have a wide-reaching network of large companies to local, mum-and-dad businesses that are transforming the modern retail environment and I am optimistic about the path we are paving.
Here in HQ, we have a great team driving the interests of our Association and delivering on member benefits in the space of HR, training and projects, and policy and advocacy.
Particularly, it has been wonderful to see the exceptional work being delivered by our Policy and Advocacy team in the past week around the single-use plastics ban in Victoria, which came into effect on 1 February, and our Youth Crime Committee. It should also be noted that the Federal Government’s paid domestic violence leave scheme is now in place.
