What might unlock the potential of Australian SMEs to thrive in a digital economy?

The Department of Industry, Innovation & Science are currently engaged in a discovery project to better understand the barriers and benefits to adopting digital technologies for small and medium businesses (SMEs). 

Seventeen interviews have been completed, and many have been micro and small businesses. The Department is now looking for Queensland businesses that are beyond micro and small,  and moving into the medium size 10-20+ employees. The interviews take about 90 minutes and are de-identified in the analysis process.  

Through the interviews, the Department hopes to gain a better understand the Australian SME landscape and unlock any potential ideas that could be implemented to support SME digital capability.
