job-active-path

jobactive PaTH starts April 1st

Retail is an important industry for young people seeking an entry-level job. Retail is the industry most likely to employ a young person and teach them transferable employability skills.

jobactive PaTH is a new national program being introduced by the Australian Government which is designed to prepare young people and help them into work by encouraging employers to trial a young person with financial incentives that reduce the cost of recruitment.

jobactive PaTH offers a great opportunity to retailers, and is available nationally.

jobactive PaTH will have three main elements: Prepare – Trial – Hire

  1. Preparejob-active-path
Young people will be prepared for work through Employability Skills Training to help improve their chances of finding and keeping a job.
  2. Trial
Employers can trial a young person in an internship for 4 – 12 weeks. All employers who host an internship will receive an upfront payment of $1000 and young people will receive a $200 fortnightly incentive payment on top of their income support.
  3. Hire
Employers who hire an eligible young person can receive up to $10,000 to help contribute to the costs of hiring and training.

All elements will have commenced by April 2017.

You can find out more information about the jobactive PaTH program here and register your interest.

The NRA Training + Development Centre works closely with employers to develop short training and induction programs to prepare young people before they start in your business. Our team are well-versed in all of the current financial incentives and government funding opportunities, and can help you access these.
