The NRA Training and Development team frequently travel across Australia to visit retailers, big and small, to deliver specialised knowledge and industry-specific expertise in order to grow their business. The team develop flexible and tailored training for employers and deliver the highest quality training in regional locations and capital cities throughout Australia.

Recently, the team visited rural Queensland in order to provide local retailers with the opportunity to enhance their skills in service and sales generation and delivery.

St George Customer Service and Merchandising Workshops

The duration of each workshop was two hours, including a practical component as part of the merchandising workshop, and covered such topics as:

  • Sales and service
  • Understanding the target customer
  • First impressions
  • Promoting store image through visual displays
  • Effective communication through body language, open, closed and reflective questioning
  • Promoting product features and benefits
  • Understanding the concept of ‘return on investment’
  • Barriers to consumer purchasing
  • Maximising sales
  • Customer complaint resolution
  • Enhancing sales and profit through product placement and visual merchandising

The practical component of the merchandising workshop gave participants the opportunity to put into practice what they had learnt, by developing their own visual displays, followed up by feedback from the trainer.
