Youth Boost Payment Initiative Extended!

The Queensland Government have just announced they are extending their Youth Boost Payment initiative for a further six months, with applications now closing 30 June 2018.

What is the Youth Boost Payment?

Part of the QLD Government’s Back to Work scheme, the Youth Boost Payment provides financial support for eligible employers to provide apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for young unemployed people in regional Queensland.

Youth Boost Payments are available for apprenticeships and traineeships where the employer is not eligible for Queensland’s Apprentice Trainee rebate for payroll tax.

What funding is available?

Once approved,* funding of $20,000 (for a full-time employee) is paid in three parts:

After 4 weeks of continuous employment $6,000
After 26 weeks of continuous employment $7,000
After 52 weeks of continuous employment $7,000

Eligible part-time jobs between 20 and 35 hours per week on average attract 75% of the full Youth Boost payment ($15,000 over 12 months in three payments).

*Further eligibility criteria apply. Find out more here.

Take advantage of the Youth Boost Payment

To be eligible for the Youth Boost Payment for an apprentice or trainee, a Commonwealth Government Training Contract must be in place. It may sound complicated but don’t worry – that’s where we come in.
