In the early 2000s, Sophie took advantage of an opportunity to transition her career from retail to non-profit management and management of industry associations. In the years that followed, she gained extensive experience managing a variety of roles in large and small organisations. Most of her professional career has been devoted to the retail sector. This earned her a reputation for building strong relationships and working with her peers to achieve a vision of Australia’s retail workforce through skills, training and education.

Sophie has undertaken large-scale projects that have deepened her understanding of the complexity of VET, employment services and the economic need for a thriving retail workforce. Projects delivered with significant government funding primarily to offer employment opportunities to the most vulnerable Australians and supported by skilled internal and external teams. In addition to a number of local activation projects in Vic and NSW aimed at revitalising retail in our cities and regions.
