This week we have completed our third Ready for Retail course delivered in conjunction with MiHaven in Cairns.
Using our industry endorsed training program, MiHaven and the National Retail Association have trained seven participants in a Certificate II in Retail Services, giving them skills in customer service, visual merchandising, point of sale and how to work effectively in a retail environment. Five students are already employed in local businesses.
These businesses will be able to tap into the new Queensland Governments’ Back to Work initiative, which can give regional Queensland employers a wage subsidy of up to $15 000 for their new, eligible employees, depending on their hours of employment.
The Ready for Retail course is a great opportunity for Queensland retailers to explore, especially if you are considering hiring for the upcoming Christmas period and are looking for new job ready workers.
MiHaven will be commencing our next program in Cairns in September, and NRA are delivering these programs throughout Queensland.
