The NRA Retail Institute holds the Industry Skills Advisory Program contract with Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT). We provide the Department with evidence-based information about skills needs, jobs growth and new industry directions to guide investment decisions and program design to DESBT.
The purpose of the Industry Skills Advisor role is to engage with a broad range of stakeholders across the Retail and Personal Services Industries and provide the Department with evidence-based industry advice and intelligence in regards to:
- industry direction
- priority skills list
- training package reviews
- regional skills needs/shortages/priorities
- current industry trends and concerns which may influence training reform in regions
