COVID Safe Check In for retailers South Australia

From today, all general retail industry premises in South Australia must have a completed COVID Safe Plan and a QR code that customers will use to check in as they enter.

All people entering the place must upload their relevant contact details to the approved contact tracing system. This upload is automatic when you use the COVID Safe Check-In to scan the QR code.

A general retail industry premises is a place where retail sale or hire of goods or services for personal, household, or business use occurs and where customers are physically present. This includes supermarkets, department stores, hardware stores, and general retail.

Each business site will need to complete the online COVID Safe Plan to receive their QR code via email. Businesses that have already completed a voluntary COVID Safe Plan do not need to complete another plan as they will already have received a SA Government QR code.

The scanning of this QR code is only a check-in feature at this stage. You do not need to have your customers check out via this system.

If a customer does not have a smart phone, a paper recording log template is available as a back up.

If you have any questions at all, please phone our Hotline on 1800 738 245 (1800 RETAIL) and a member of our team will be able to assist.
