The Queensland Government is proposing a ban on the supply of specific single-use plastic products, starting with straws (taking into account the needs of people with disability or healthcare needs), cutlery, plates and stirrers.

The Single-Use Plastic Items Consultation Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) (PDF, 973KB) has been developed to evaluate banning these particular single-use plastic products—as an option for helping reduce plastic pollution and waste in Queensland.
