What Is Female Counterpart

The National Retail Association welcomes the Victorian Government’s release of educational resources to help SMEs better understand how they can close the gender pay gap.

The materials developed by Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) give the state the opportunity to create large-scale change from the ground up.

The materials will be tailored specifically to the needs of small to medium-sized businesses. Given that they make up such a significant proportion of the Victorian workforce this is the most effective way to accelerate closing the gap.

As these businesses grow, they will be the next generation of big businesses, so this is an important move in reducing the gender pay gap state-wide and into the future.

This initiative could not have come at a better time and the NRA hopes that similar initiatives are implemented across the nation.

The National Retail Association is the voice of modern retail, representing more than 60,000 stores across Australia.  It has been serving businesses in the retail and fast-food sectors for close to 100 years.
