Retail struggle in January 2020

We are now just one week away from nominations opening for the 2020 National Retail Awards. From next Monday, March 2, retailers from across the country will be able to lodge their nominations via our online portal.

It is completely free to enter, with the winners announced at our star-studded Gala Dinner on August 28 at The Star on the Gold Coast.

Asides from honouring individuals and businesses within the sector who have achieved a standard of excellence, the National Retail Awards also provides retailers with the opportunity to obtain national recognition. Promoting your business is something all of you do in your own way and winning a nationwide award provides another avenue to communicate your credentials to customers. For winners and nominees there will also be the chance to grab some free publicity via any media opportunities that arise.

Moreover, if you attend the Gala Dinner you will have the opportunity to network with over 400 industry leaders and decision makers from across retail. Feedback we have received in previous years is that attendees do feel they make worthwhile connections and appreciate the ability to discuss with other retailers how they navigate their business challenges.

This year’s awards fall under one of three components:

  • The Champion Awards which celebrate retailers dedicated to championing the cause of social responsibility, innovation and training in industry;
  • The Category Awards which recognise the efforts of retail businesses of all sizes, online and offline; and
  • The Individual Awards which celebrates those dedicated individuals who go above and beyond their duties to motivate, inspire and grow their respective businesses.

I encourage all of you to strongly consider entering either your business or a team member and the criteria for each award can be found on our dedicated National Awards website.

Have a great week!
